Introduction to Playwork: Two day entry level certificated course £120

This two-day Skills Active workshop provides a comprehensive and fascinating introduction to play. It inspires people who are new to working with children and also prepares them for the realities of working in this field.  This course is approved by Ofsted for playscheme workers and is an excellent starting point for anyone hoping to undertake an NVQ Level 2 in Playwork or Childcare. 

Safeguarding Children: Certificated one day course £65

This training session looks at the different types of child abuse whilst giving practical advice as to what to look out for and what to do if you suspect that a child is being abused. It also looks at ways in which we can help children keep themselves safe from danger. 

Health & Safety: Certificated one day course £65

This training session provides the necessary Health and Safety skills and knowledge that a playworker/early years worker will need to work in a childcare environment.  There are two competency assessments that will be taken during this training.  This training is fully interactive.

Food Hygiene: Certificated one day course £65

This training session provides the necessary Food Hygiene skills and knowledge that a playworker/early years worker will need to work in a childcare environment.  There is a competency assessment taken during this training.  This training is fully interactive.

Disability Awareness and Inclusion: Certificated one day course £65

All children have a right to be able to play and do interesting things with their free time. This workshop introduces ideas and techniques for enabling all children in the child-centred setting, whatever their abilities, and encourages a "can do" attitude to meeting children's special needs. 

Creating Play Opportunities: Certificated one day course £65

This training session provides the theory and practical skills to become more confident in delivering activities to children.  You will learn new activities as well as share other ideas and practices as well as looking to better your overall activity planning and delivery.

Building Relationships in a Play Environment: Certificated one day course £65

This workshop reinforces understanding of how playworkers should build and maintain positive relationships with children and young people in a play environment in relation to the playwork principles.

Positive Behaviour Management: Certificated one day course £65

This training session provides a range of practical ideas to support and promote positive behaviour in children. Together we look at where, when, how, why and what challenging behaviour is presented and consider constructive ways to manage it and reduce the likelihood or repetition.
