At Kids’ City we believe that all children and young people need to play and we want people with energy, commitment and a sound up to date knowledge of the play process to add to our successful organisation.
We have positions available for staff to work three, four or five days per week (Mon-Wed/Thu/Fri). Our service runs between 3pm and 6pm and staff work three hours per day during term time with overtime being available during the holiday playscheme periods.
We currently run clubs in fourteen primary schools in Lambeth, Wandsworth, Merton and Hounslow and all our staff receive accredited training to help them develop in their role. More detailed information is available in each job description.

Finance and Office Manager – £30 – 35,000 pa pro rata
The Finance and Office Manager (FOM) has overall responsibility for the smooth running of the charity’s Business Team, ensuring that the team operate to a high standard and are fully supported to carry out their roles. The FOM is a member of the Senior Management Team and contributes to the strategic direction of the charity through reports and meetings.
Centre Manager – from £13.00 – £14.60 per hour
The After-school Centre Manager will oversee the running of daily activities, ensuring that the children are safe and happy during their visit. They will maintain the centre according to the prevailing legislation and meet Ofsted standards. The CM will work with Kids’ City and the school to promote the welfare of children. The CM is responsible for managing playworkers and volunteers. The position is for 5 days a week, term-time only between 3-6pm, with an additional 5 hours of admin time. Accredited training is available and opportunities for additional work during the school holidays may be available.
Deputy Centre Managers – £10.50 – £12.10 per hour
Deputy Centre Managers work closely with the Centre Manager in all aspects of running the after school or holiday provision. The Deputy Centre Manager is responsible for running fun and engaging activities for children, ensuring that they are safe during their visit. This position is five days per week, three hours per day between 3pm and 6pm during term time only. Deputies report to the Centre Manager and may be required to cover the manager role temporarily. The starting rate is £9.50 per hour.
Playworkers – from £8.50 – £9.50 per hour
Kids’ City Playworkers are responsible for running fun and engaging activities for children and ensuring they are safe during their time at the club. Playworker positions are available for three, four or five days per week to work three hours per day between 3pm and 6pm during term time only. Playworkers report to the Centre Manager or Deputy and the starting rate is from £7.20 per hour according to qualifications and experience.
Breakfast Club Person in Charge – no positions currently available
The Breakfast Club Person in Charge will work at one of our sites and is responsible for ensuring that the service takes place according to prevailing legislation, that children are safe and happy and that educational or recreational activities take place. They will work as part of the local team and the school to ensure the good management of the service. They are responsible for maintaining records and a small budget. This position is five days per week, one hour per day between 8am and 9am during term time only.
Breakfast Club Assistant – no positions currently available
The Breakfast Club Assistant will work with the Breakfast Club Manager at one of our sites to ensure that the service takes place according to prevailing legislation, that children are safe and happy and that educational or recreational activities take place. They will help to work as part of the local team and will liaise with the after-school team and the school to ensure the service runs well. This position is five days per week, one hour per day between 8am and 9am during term time only. The starting rate is £8.20 per hour according to qualifications and experience.
Bank Centre Managers – £14.65 per hour
Bank Centre Managers will be available to cover at our after school clubs at a moments notice and are responsible for all aspects of running the after school club, including the administration, managing the staff and ensuring the club is adequately resourced.
Bank Playworkers – from £9.58 per hour
Kids’ City Bank Playworkers will be available to cover at our afterschool clubs at a moments notice and are responsible for running fun and engaging activities for children and ensuring they are safe during their time at the club. Bank Playworkers report to the Centre Manager.
